The municipality of Sesimbra is located in the southwest of the Setúbal Peninsula and is part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. It is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Almada and Seixal, to the northeast by Barreiro, to the east by Setúbal, and to the southwest by the Atlantic Ocean. Its coastline, featuring diverse landscapes, stretches from the Albufeira Lagoon to the Arrábida Mountain Range.
The municipality consists of three parishes: Santiago, Castelo, and Quinta do Conde.
